The mission of the Interfaith Federation of Greater Baton Rouge is to cultivate interfaith understanding and cooperation to reduce human suffering in Greater Baton Rouge.   Part of that suffering includes hunger.   Holy Grill  (of the Interfaith Federation) serves hot, nutritious lunches at the Cadillac Street BREC Park Gym Monday through Friday.  Volunteers from over 20 faith communities serve the food.   Holy Grill is lucky to have Tonia Causey as its cook and coordinator for 28 years now. Her red beans and rice are famous and delicious!

The mission of the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank is to feed the hungry in Baton Rouge and ten surrounding parishes by providing food and educational outreach through faith-based and other community partners.

Nearly 16% of people in Baton Rouge are food insecure. Food insecurity refers to a situation where a person is not sure from where their next meal will come or whether a meal will come at all. Parents need a place to turn when their children are hungry.

All proceeds raised in the Hunger Walk are shared with the Greater Baton Rouge Area Food Bank and Holy Grill.
